What : The toilet is a huge problem within the community of Ikemeleng, the community uses portable and pit toilets. The toilets are in bad conditions and unhealthy to use.

Where : Ikemeleng just +-7km outside Rustenburg CBD within five big mining houses namely Aquarius platinum, Samancor western chrome mine, Glencor xstrata,Lanxess and Anglo american platinum mine and registered as ward 35 under Rustenburg local municipality.

Impacts : There is a bad smell arising from the toilets and the worms roaming around the toilets seats.

Likely cause: The community was relocated by Aquarius mine and the portable toilets were to be a temporary solution since 2006 there hasn't been any change as the community still uses the portable toilets.
