Description

What: Community of Ikemeleng uses portable toilets supplied by Aquarius in 2006 when they were relocated as a temporary measure.

Where: Ikemeleng Kroondal just outside Rustenburg.

Impacts: The conditions are unhealthy and not safe for people to use, during the day one can easily see the person inside the toilet as the toilet are transparent especially during summer due to the sun. This leads to lack of privacy which has lead to some people being victimized.

Likely causes: Aquarius mine did not live up to its promise of bring a long term solution.
