Sanitation problems in Evaton West Ext.4

Description

There are major sewer spills in Evaton West Ext 4. The sewage pump station is under capacity. It is not able to handle the incoming sewerage.

We spoke to the person working at the pump station and from her reasoning was that one pump had broken and the there is only one pump functioning since the station is working on two pumps.

I was with a local monitor residing in Evaton West ext.4 and we spoke to a local resident. This is when we learned that the community is in a rampant and angry mood. They feel that the problem is because workers at the pump station are migrants, not from the local area. They reason “why was the pump station blocked since migrants came in. “the previous men who worked at the pump station where from the local community and would not have excuses for the pump station not to function. Because they were local residents employed, they understand local problems very well” said the local resident angrily.
