What: The adopt a wetland programme is a campaign initiated by VEJA and Mollo Arts and Culture Development.
Where: the campaign is inclusive of the community of Kingsington, Sharpeville.
Impacts: the dam is commonly known for its local cattle grazing and drinking water from it, Fisher men fishing in it and flamingos migrating during their seasons. But recently such activities are becoming more vivid.
Likely causes: frequent sewer spills coming in throug local streams and from improperly maintained sewer pump station situated next to the dam.
