Informal Settlers Revolt.

Description

What: informal settlers of bophelong were joined by residents of old, and new location on a massive march concerning new houses, better sanitation, electricity cuts-off without announcements and service delivery. Police were shooting and some residents were arrested. But now 1 was hurt.

Where: corner Dube street and golden highway vanderbijlpark_bophelong

When: from the 2nd of may of may until the 3rd may 2016.

The impact: 1. traffic of golden high way was disturbed
2. Residents burned tires, and vandalized the traffic lights and traffic signs were uninstalled.
3. Foreigners packed and left their shops because people wanted to take advantage of the situation and start to loot.
