Kalk Soil In Bolana.

Description

What: Anglo American platinum RPM smelter is producing kalk soil in a form of waste from their smelter which is about 300 metres away from the community of Bolana.
Where: Bolana,bleskop outside Rustenburg.
Impacts: the waste is believed to carry radioactive materials which are harmful to the health of the people. The soil is now dumped at the old building in scrap yard which is about 500metres away from the community.
Likely causes: during windy seasons, the sand is blown from the dumping to the community, causing their respiratory problems even worse.
