RPM Smelter Is A Hazard To The Health Of Bolana's Residents.

Description

What: Anglo American platinum is owning a smelter which is about 300metres away from Bolana community. The smelter is releasing different chemicals which are very harmful to the residents. I have been exposed to the chemicals for just 4 hours but already I have a headache. People living in Bolana most are suffering from respiratory illnesses.
Where: Bolana community is in bleskop,about 500 metres away from Anglo American platinum bleskop hospital. It falls under Ikemeleng in Kroondal outside Rustenburg.
Impacts: people are exposed to different kind of chemicals on their daily lives,yet they do not benefit from the company as almost all the residents of Bolana are not working at the smelter.
Likely causes: this is because the company know that with the amount of chemicals they release daily,the local residents are all suffering from respiratory illnesses.
