Our Only Recreational Facility.

Description

What: Ikemeleng sports ground is the only recreational facility the community have. The soccer turf is rocky and the clay soil becames muddy during rainy seasons.

Where: the ground is in Ikemeleng community which is in Kroondal just outside Rustenburg, the fastest growing city in Africa.

Impacts: The conditions of this turf leads to less sports activities as the users easily get injured. The turf is also used for community gathering such as meetings due to lack of proper facilities.Lack of recreational facilities means children have nothing much to do and end up playing at waste dumps, streets and community streams which is dangerous.

Likely causes: This is caused by the ignorance of the municipality and all the mining houses in the neighborhood of Ikemeleng.
