Tharisa Open Cast Safety Is Questionable

What: tharisa mine has na operating open cast about 1km away from the community of mmaditlhomwa and lapologang village.the safety of the open cast is questionable because it is not fenced secured. I managed to get inside the open cast without been seen by anyone.one may ask how many kids use the place as a playing ground and the water in the cast as a swimming pool as the members of the community say.
Where:tharisa is a mine operating just outside maditlhokwa and lapologang village in marikana outside Rustenburg.
Impacts: the open cast contains water which poisonous and the dust contains radioactive materials. The security is not tight and the cast is not fenced to keep away from children and animals.
Recommendations: tharisa should tight their security and fence the open cast with security fence to maintain safety of the community and the animals as well.
