Underground water pipe leakage, waste of an already scarce resource

The pictures you’re seeing are of a leaking underground waterpipe in Bakoena Street, Boipatong. The street separates Tshirela and Slovopark. The leak started some time before elections and it has been flowing ever since. The hole in the road has gotten bigger in diameter. The residents say the same thing has happened in the past on the same road. They said they do not know who to talk to in order to report the leak. They say this has happened before and municipality came and fixed it eventually. It’s a waste of an already scarce water resource. I am still uncertain at this point but it looks to me like it’s a water pipe for the community use.
