Raw sewerage in Emalahleni and no sign of The Manucipality

Most of the streets of EMALAHLENI Witbank Mpumalanga province are surrounded by raw sewage that flows to the nearby river that affects the biodiversity of the stream and also the health of the public.

We met Mr Mahlangu on 29 07 2016,  a frustrated member of the community of Ext 5  EMALAHLENI, who is hopeless about the problem they are facing in their house  about the sewage that burst  inside their bathroom twice, which  leaves the house highly smelling. The Mahlangu family along with their neighbors, tried to contact the municipality for assistance,  They promised that they are coming to their rescue but they never show up. So they decided to removed the back pipe of their toilet to stop the sewer from entering the house, at the same time to allow it to flow to the street.

IHAWU-LEMVELO have managed to get hold of the municipal people who told us that the problem of sewer is caused by the in streaming of people coming to the area who reside at the back of many of the houses in the area as tenants
