Mrs Plaatje living in Riverlea in the shadow of the Mooifontein tailings dam is struggling to breathe. She lives with the assistance of an oxygen machine. She has been living with toxic mine dust for 45 years. Five others have died living on the machine including Terry Watts, Mafia Willy Davids, Stan, Mrs Williams, Mr Andries Gouws and Aunt Sister.
