Description

What :The community is living in darkness but there is a mini ventilation substation supplying power from the tharisa main station its just 8mitres from one of the community house.

Where : Maditlhokwa is situated 5km from Marikana (CBD)and its just 2km from Tharisa mine.

Impacts : The community is using Paraffin stoves,gas stoves and candles during night residents are afraid to go to nearby Sphaza shop because of crime happening in maditlhokwa the houses of the residents got burned due to gas and paraffin.

Recommendations :Tharisa must be accountable for all crimes and the burning of houses of the residence must supply the community with electricity that to support their ventilation while community is living in the dark.
